At Preston Music Therapy, we’re bursting with pride as we celebrate the remarkable journey of one of our former clients, Michelle Stevens. Losing her hearing around 20 years ago and born blind, Michelle never let her sensory losses define her limits. Guided by her profound musical memory and sheer determination, she continued to perform and evolve as an extraordinary pianist and creative artist.

Michelle’s story reached new heights recently when she was featured on ABC’s The Piano. Her appearance on the show wasn’t just a performance—it was a powerful testament to resilience, artistry, and the life-changing impact of long-term support.

Over the years, Paul Byrnes had the privilege of working with Michelle—helping her refine her musical voice and navigate her path as a deafblind musician. Her performances, crafted through perseverance and creative brilliance, continue to inspire us all.

Michelle’s journey reminds us that music transcends limitations, and that with care, connection, and artistry, every musician has a place to shine.
